One thing to do is to bask in if you know you are skilled, that you have something to present. Congratulate yourself for obtaining the capability to acting auditions. This is the time to concentrate on your advantages, to find a way to reduce the pressure in your life. Do not over think. Rather, focus on the scenario, the speech and picture an effective performance.
After that, spend some time to prepare as soon as possible. Remember that acting auditions should be given serious attention. Passion, interest and hard work is what makes a variation.
If there are casting calls, try to read the format, the location and the other significant information that you have to identify so that you can prepare well. You have to know what they are expecting to get out of the audition.
Below couple of inquiries that you need to ask:
1. Are you performing the auditions on your own or as a part of the act? In this way you can start participating with other people that you may build rapport as soon as possible. This is one way to correct the errors before starting your acting auditions.
2. How many minutes are you allowed performing? Will you be performing a few acting monologues? That way, you can look at the time of performance and be able to provide essential effect in just a few seconds if you have short time.
3. Find out there would be a script provided or if it would be a cold reading, keeping the script in your hands or having an idea of the concept would be a big help for your character reference. This is one way to be precise.
4. Who will be watching? You have to know this in order to be able to acknowledge the judges, their capabilities and to be able to offer the important respect that each needs.
5. Be ready to memorize a given script or your own script. Being able to memorize your part gives you more self esteem and consistency.
6. If you may be asked to make your own speech, be as resourceful as you can. Let others do a critic on your monologue. Have buddies over to watch and read your monologue. Practice with other actors who can provide constructive criticism. Family members are usually not the most effective judge for talent because they have the tendency to get biased especially with parents. It is advisable to get harder but practical comments from the professionals.
